James Chen is a practicing physician who received his undergraduate degree from Cornell and his MD and PhD “with distinction in research” from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has been associated with the Hawthorne Medical Group as a primary care physician and Director of an Urgent Care Center in North Dartmouth, MA. More recently, he has been on the front lines of the COVID pandemic as an acute care physician. Dr. Chen brings the critical thinking he used in molecular biology research to the bedside to understand COVID disease processes and in his compassionate care of ill patients. In his concern for the emotional and physical effects of COVID on his patients, he has developed a deeper appreciation of “not only the fragility but the resiliency” of human beings.
